2011 Sand Volleyball Tryouts and Information

Welcome to the 2011 Sand Volleyball season!  We are so excited for second year as a Sand Volleyball Club.
Following, please find the tryout information. We look forward to seeing you!

• Cost - $10 for tryouts   Cost for the Sand Club Season - $500.
• This will include 1 year membership in the California Beach Volleyball Association

• This year we will have three divisions - Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced.

  Beginning - This group will work in a "camp setting" and focus on players new to the game with training in: ball handling, beach conditioning, and basic game strategies.

  Intermediate - These players have had some experience with both the beach game and indoor play.  Training will be directed towards the advancement of individual skills, competitive training and tournament level game strategies.

  Advanced - These players have had extensive experience with the beach game and have competed in outdoor events in the past.  Training will include: physical conditioning, advanced skill development, and specific game strategies that will be tailored to each players strengths.  Players in this group may join as a team and will be trained together or will be given opportunities to play with other players in this group.      

• Summer training sessions will be M-W-F  9:30 to 11:30 am  every week starting June 6th and ending Aug 8th with the exceptions of the following Weds:     June 15th, 29th ,  July 13th ,27th, and Aug 10th     These are dates for local CBVA santioned events that will be held at Main Street Beach in Santa Cruz and we are encouraging our club members to particpate in those torurnaments. • Tryout Dates and Times:

               Saturday - May 7th       9:30a.m. to 11:30a.m.

               Saturday - May 21st     9:30a.m. to 11:30a.m.

• Location:  The beach courts at Rio Del Mar Beach (across from the 400 block of Beach  Drive in RioDel Mar
