MAIN BEACH VOLLEYBALL CLUB AND MAIN COURT CONCEPTS PRESENT:
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA'S FIRST JR. DOUBLES SAND VOLLEYBALL CLUB!!
MAIN BEACH SAND VOLLEYBALL CLUB
Main Beach Volleyball Club of Santa Cruz and Main Court Concepts have come together to offer a great opportunity for junior girls to continue developing their indoor skills while also learning the new NCAA sport of doubles beach volleyball. This is a summer series beginning in May that will provide quality instructors and coaches to accomodate beginning to advanced levels of players. Jan Furman and Mark Hull will be combining their years of experience and expertise to create a comprehensive training program for all juniors aged 18 and under.
Why Beach Volleyball?
The nature of doubles sand volleyball emphasizes the “complete” player, where all the skills of passing, setting, hitting , digging and blocking are used in every play. The confidence that comes from playing doubles and being involved in every play can produce tremendous benefits in ball control and mental toughness – skills that every coach looks for in any athlete. The physical conditioning and quick twitch muscle development from playing in the sand translates into quicker movements and higher vertical jumps when the beach players return to the indoor court.
What is included in the Sand Volleyball Program:
· Quality coaching from some of the top beach players and coaches in the area
· 2 practices a week
· A year membership to the CBVA – California Beach Volleyball Association
CBVA is the oldest & most established beach organization holding youth and adult events
throughout California since 1960.
· A Wilson AVP beach volleyball
· Main Beach attire
· Skills clinics with guest coaches: Gayle Stammer, Berta McGann, Karissa Cook and more.
· 2 tournaments including the CBVA qualifying tournament for the Youth Beach Championship
in Manhattan Beach.
Tryouts $30

This division is for players who have some volleyball experience, but maybe haven’t played beach volleyball. Emphasis will be on basic ball handling, physical conditioning and introduction to doubles beach strategy. To be a Sand Dab you must be able to play volleyball – sorry but no beginning students will be accepted into this division.
o Sand Sharks Division:
This division will be divided into Intermediate and Advanced players. This level of player has had some previous experience in sand tournaments and is looking to develop advanced beach skills, strategy and mental preparation to go to the next level of the game. There is a maximum of players that can be accepted. There will be 16 players accepted into the intermediate division and 12 players accepted into the advanced division.
